W…W…W…Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should be Reading. To play along, just answer the following three questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next?

Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1)Scarlet (Lunar Chronicles, #2)The Chaos of StarsAt the end of last year I finished reading just a handful of books. After the Kane Chronicles I read: The Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White, Cinder and Scarlet by Marissa Meyer and Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake. This year I have finished reading Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell and Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tucholke. Feel free to browse through my reviews by clicking on the title of the book.

The Constant Princess (The Tudor Court, #1)Cornerstone (Souls of the Stones, #1)I’m currently reading a slew of books for the Bout of Books 9.0 Read-a-thon. I’m working my way through two books at the moment. The first being The Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory. It’s the first in the Tudor Court series. It also happens to be my Historical Fiction read for the Genre Reading Challenge. The second is Cornerstone by Kelly Walker. It is the first of the Souls of the Stones series and my random ebook read. I’m also reading Everblue by Brenda Pandos but I haven’t gotten too far. Not sure how great it’s going to be and it seems to have a cheesy start but maybe it’ll get better.

The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike, #1)Girl of Nightmares (Anna, #2)Up next is definitely The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith (or better known as J. K. Rowling). It’s the last book on my read-a-thon goals. Not sure I’ll be able to finish it by the end of the read-a-thon but I sure can try 🙂 It’s the first in a series and I really hope it’s a long one. After that I definitely want to start Girl of Nightmares which is the sequel to Anna Dressed in Blood. After that I’m not really sure. Maybe I’ll start A Feast of Crows finally >>

A Feast For Crows, a song of ice and fire, April Tucholke, Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, book blog meme, george r r martin, Kiersten White, Mark Zusak, Melissa de la Cruz, Rick Riordan, The Beauchamp Family, The Book Thief, The Chaos of Stars, The Kane Chronicles, The Serpent's Shadow, The Throne of Fire, Witches of East End, wwwwednesdays

W…W…W…Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should be Reading. To play along, just answer the following three questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next?

I recently finished book two of the Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan. I really enjoyed it and I think I even liked it better than the first book. You all the usual characters but there are a few new players that show up. As per usual with Riordan, all the characters were well done and flushed out. I have yet to write a review for this but I will get it done!

I’m currently still reading The Book Thief by Mark Zusak. I put it down to work on finishing the rest of Kane Chronicles because I have to return The Serpent's Shadow (Kane Chronicles, #3)those to the library before I leave for vacation. Speaking of, I’m also reading the last of Kane Chronicles – The Serpent’s Shadow – and plan to have that done by the end of the week.

Up next I have two more library books to read before the due dates: The Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White and Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Tucholke. And since I have promised this to Isis, I will also start A Feast for Crows by Martin right when I finish the Kane Chronicles. I also want to start Witches of East End by Melissa de la Cruz soon.

What are you reading?

top-ten-tuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted at The Broke and The Bookish.  Each week a new top ten list is posted, and to participate all you have to do is fill in YOUR top ten for the list. This week’s list is:

Top Ten Books I’d Recommend To X Person

Grave Witch (Alex Craft, #1)1. Alex Craft by Kalayna Price – I love this series and this author. Her writing is magnificent and I feel like the books don’t get enough love. The fandom is small but it’s so good!

Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch2. Good Omens by Terry Prachett and Neil Gaiman – This apocalyptic novel is well written and just filled with good, witty humor. I picked it up out of boredom at my Grandparent’s house and ended up taking it home with me. It’s the only Prachett and Gaiman book I’ve ever read but I plan on reading more.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1)3. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling – One of my childhood favorites and one of my favorite authors. I recommend this to anyone who has yet to read them.

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1)4. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan – I recently finished this series and LOVED it! It was a great YA novel and the characters were amazing. It has become a new favorite series from a new favorite author. I just need to get more of my friends to read it.

A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1)5. A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness – I read this book last year and just loved the writing. After the onslaught of vampire romance novels lately I was hesitant to get into a book that involved vampires and romance (while not being an exclusive romance novel). However, I’m glad I did. The relationship is well done, the story is fascinating and the writing is captivating. I’m waiting for the last in this trilogy to come out before I continue on to book two, but the first was so very enticing!

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)6. A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin – My god this series! Talk about epic fantasy! It’s just all too amazing and mind boggling and just YOU HAVE TO READ IT! Yes the books are very long but they are so very good! All the characters are individual and flushed out. The story just jumps off the pages and you can’t help but fall into the bloody, cold and murderous world of Westeros.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #1)7. Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin – This dark and mind numbing YA series is just too good and too realistic. While it is a paranormal/fantasy type novel there are times where you are just left questioning if it could all have happened. The synopsis don’t do the books justice and I can tell you now, you won’t figure out what happens at the end!

The Hobbit8. The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien – This children’s classic is just one you can’t pass up. While Tolkien’s writing may be hard to get into at first, I can assure you that the story is well worth the effort. It is one of my favorites and has become a book I plan to read over and over and over again.

The Alchemyst (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #1)9. The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flammel by Michael Scott – This YA series is another set in mythology. But that’s about as similar as it gets to Percy Jackson. This series contains gods and goddesses and beings from all over the world and from mythologies I haven’t even heard of. The writing is fast paced, action filled and yet there are still just enough humor to keep the good spirits going. The series is done so no worries on having to wait for that last book to come out.

The Fault in Our Stars10. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green – You will cry and it will break your heart. Read it.

W…W…W…Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should be Reading. To play along, just answer the following three questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next?

FangirlSince last week I’ve finished The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan (book 3 in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series). I am loving this series and have already gotten my hands on the next book. I requested the last a week ago but for some reason it hasn’t come through (odd since there’s a bunch of copies available in the other branches of the system). I also picked up and finished Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell for Tumblr’s first ever book club (reblogbookclub). IT WAS AMAZING. I read it in two days and am in love! I need to get my own copy of the book and just read it again. Seriously guys, it was that good. Go read it!

The Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #4)I am still (technically) working on Night Watch. Really I’ve just put it down for the time being and it’s sitting on my night stand under a pile of other books. I’ll read it again eventually. After I finish the Percy Jackson series, Tiger Lily and The Cuckoo’s Calling. I started reading Tiger Lily again last night and I hope to finish it this weekend. I also got The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan from the library and have started that.

Once those two books are finished I’ll be reading Cuckoo’s Calling and starting A Feast for Crows. That is my plan anyway and hopefully I can stick to it this time 🙂 At least I’m not reading 9 books at once like some people I know 😉

W…W…W…Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should be Reading. To play along, just answer the following three questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next?

So I haven’t finished anything since my last post. I haven’t been reading as much as I used to. I’m working now and not used to this early schedule but I’m still reading! And there will be more review posts up soon

I’m still working through Night Watch by Sergei Lukyanenko and Tiger Lily by K. Bird Lincoln. I haven’t read them in the past week but I will work on them once I finish reading The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan. I’m loving this series and making my way through it easy. I got too lazy and didn’t feel like buying my own copies so I’ve decided to just borrow the rest from the library for the time being.

The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike, #1)A Feast for Crows (A Song of Ice and Fire, #4)I haven’t actually started these yet. But I didn’t pull them out of my bookshelf and put them on my night stand. So every time I go to bed they stare at me guiltily wondering why I’m not reading them. (I will start soon I promise!) I also plan to read books on my list of review books. I’ve neglected them and feel bad about it so that’s the next pile of books I’ll be working my way through.
